Most buyers today are looking for turnkey homes, especially if they are gong to pay the market price for property for sale in Tucson.   Most of the Foothills homes were built in the late 80’s and newer subdivisions were built in the early 2000.  Therefore, many of these homes for sale in Tucson, Arizona are ready for renovations.


A key factor that attracts buyers to the Foothills area, are the older homes with larger lots, fabulous mountain and city views, the close proximity to the city areas, the public schools, the University of Arizona, shopping centers, and health facilities and easy access to other parts of the city whether you are heading east or west.  However, the professional that is moving to Tucson and wants the foothills area, is looking for these homes to have some ready-made improvements.  Relocation is stressful enough.


Sometimes the work that is needed does not cost the seller that much.

Basic maintenance and some improvements will help the sell the home faster and make the listing price a fair market price too. Below are some important things to consider when selling.


Look at the exterior of your home as you are coming up the driveway.   Painting the exterior, changing out the front entry door or even painting it, newer outdoor lighting fixtures and some landscaping will entice more sellers into your home. Hire a window

Cleaner too.  Make sure your pool is always clean.  Repair any broken gates; fascia, outdoor faucets, and maybe power wash your garage.  Clean out your garage so the buyer will see the ample storage.


Lets consider the inside of the home.  Paint, painting is an important interior factor!  Cleaning skills will need to be top notch.  Clean and or replace the carpeting.  Steam clean your tile and grout areas.  Try to keep the kitchen countertops as sparse as possible.  And, time to take down your family pictures and knickknacks. Clean out your pantries, closets, and rid extra furniture, as less means more to the buyer.  Buyers want to vision their furniture in the space.


Lastly, this may be the time to be ahead of your game.  Hire a home inspector and see if any important home repairs will be required like the roof, electrical, water heater, and heating and AC systems.
