Why has Tucson become another luxury- home Mecca? Tucson boasts many fine attributes… great weather, majestic mountains, beautiful sunsets, world class Golf courses, progress and an innovative community. This community is home to the University of Arizona, Davis –Monthan Air Force Base, renown Hospital and Research facilities, Electronics, Bio-Tech, and now Real Estate.
Developers took a gamble in the late 90’s to build larger homes because they saw a vision. People saw Tucson Real Estate as a safe investment because it was a growing city. Many retirees and out of state buyers from California and Seattle, saw Tucson a great place to live, raise a family, and affordable.
According to 2005 statistics, there are hundreds of Tucson luxury homes in the $1 million range. There were only 44 $1million homes listed for sale in ’98, most in the outskirts of town. Now, luxury home prices are listed near the University, Foothills, Northeast, Vail, Oro Valley, Marana, and on the West near the new Marriott Resort in Starr Pass.
